Principal & Management: Ensures studio venues are safe, emergency exits remain clear, and instructors hold suitable qualifications, insurance, and First Aid training.
Teachers & Staff: Conduct visual checks of studio space, manage class warm-ups and cool-downs to prevent injuries, and log any accidents.
Parents & Students: Must inform staff of any pre-existing injuries, medical conditions, or health changes prior to taking class, and ensure suitable dance attire and footwear are worn.
3. Studio Safety & Physical Well-being
Warm-Ups: Every class begins with a structured physical warm-up tailored to the discipline (Ballet, Acro, Musical Theatre, Commercial) to prevent injury.
Footwear & Attire: Classes require appropriate dance footwear (ballet shoes, tap shoes, clean trainers) or bare feet where appropriate to ensure proper floor grip.
Hydration: Students must bring water bottles to every session.
4. First Aid & Emergency Procedures
A designated First Aider and a fully stocked First Aid kit are available on site during all class times.
Any injuries occurring during class are logged in our Accident Book, and parents/guardians are notified.
In an emergency, staff will contact UK Emergency Services (999) immediately and reach out to the emergency contacts listed on Membermeister.
In case of a fire alarm, teachers will evacuate students to the designated safe assembly area and verify attendance using the live class register on Membermeister.
